Guitar and/or Ukulele chords for The Virgin Mary

Richard asked me for guitar and uke chords for The Virgin Mary, so here they are. Anyone else wishing to have a go, please be my guest. Maybe we could all come into the next class with ukuleles. That would be riotous, wouldn’t it?

Okay, here’s the rub with this piece.  For vocal reasons I arranged this song in Eb Major for us to work on in class.  But for you guitar or ukulele people out there, you know that’s an awkward key without a capo.  So I’ve given you two versions to work with––the first in the original key of Eb Major and the second also in Eb Major but using the chords from the key of C with a capo on the 3rd fret.  Much easier that way and I think this song sounds nicer up higher on the strings, too.  You’re on your own for the rest of the verses but the chords are the same. Have fun!

  1. Cheers Paul

I will give it a go. But don’t expect much….

I only started Uke over easter so rather like my vocals it will be a bit dodgey.

    All the best

    • Hi Richard,
That’s okay––just have fun with it. You can print them , by the way, if you right-click (or Control-Click) and use Save Image As or one of those. They’re JPEGs, not text.
